2K a year 6 days ago 6 days ago 6 days ago THE ROLE The Illinois Association of School Business Officials (Illinois ASBO) seeks a highly motivated, multi-faceted communications and marketing professional to join our high-performing team.
This role is based in our DeKalb office.
However, an option for hybrid (two days per week) work is available.
This is a dynamic role for an association professional who possesses superior organizational, communication, writing, editing and problem solving skills.
Ability to work as a team player and provide excellent customer service internally and externally is a must.
A primary purpose of this role is to support and advance the association's publications and marketing programs and initiatives.
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will be a hands-on member of the Illinois ASBO team that will assist with the development, implementation and successful execution of our overall marketing strategies for our programs, products, services and member engagement activities.
Communication
Responsibilities:
Strong copywriting, editing, proofreading and communication skills.
Assist in editing and developing content for the Association publication, coordinate proof process and communicate with authors.
Assist in the creation of an editorial calendar and coordinating communications across departments.
Create emails and other Association communications from existing design templates.
Regularly edit and update our website with the latest events and developments, ensuring that our content remains current, accurate, and engaging for our members.
Perform research and analysis of marketing campaigns and website content.
Assist in the creation of personas and lists for target marketing.
Work together with Association members and marketing team to develop program testimonials and article content.
Coordinate and manage the Leadership Center Blog.
Marketing
Responsibilities:
Support strategic marketing objectives through development of project management plans to include the development of promotional messages, content, and strategies for brochures, email, web, social media and other channels as identified.
Ability to work in a cross-functional environment to successfully execute projects from concept to completion - delivering results that are on strategy, on time and meet pre-defined goals.
Develop promotional campaigns, identify appropriate personas, create messages for the appropriate audience, align to Illinois ASBO brand guidelines and high-level messaging.
Must be self-directed with excellent time and project management skills with an ability to organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with strict attention to detail and with minimal supervision.
Other Skills:
Knowledge or desire to learn programs or skills including HTML coding and new marketing and online community software.
Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet aggressive deadlines independently or as part of a team.
Member focus, with exceptional customer service and problem solving skills.

Ability to suggest new approaches to tasks and procedures.

Experience:
A minimum of one year of marketing experience, preferably in the association or non profit industries.
A college degree.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, with a high degree of working experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with Zoom, database management, website management, email and calendar programs are a plus.
Additional Information:
This position will provide one week of onsite support at the Association's Annual Conference each April or May.
Other travel in Illinois will be required throughout the year and is reimbursed by the Association.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
