Summary:
Office Professionals in this category perform both routine and complex clerical and secretarial work, serving as the system operator of a specific software program(s) and providing assistance to the department(s) and staff who use the assigned technology.
She/he has responsibility for the effective operation of the assigned technology and must exercise initiative, independent judgment, confidentiality and discretion in the performance of their duties.
Work assignments are generally received with explanation of what is needed and results desired, and are then performed with a considerable degree of independence and judgment based on knowledge and experience.
Qualifications:
Office Professionals must be able to:
? organize an efficient operational system ? communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders in a manner that reflects positively on the district ? make appropriate decisions and interact collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders ? interpret policies, procedures and rules ? operate a computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data ? utilize advanced features of current technology proficiently including but not limited to the Microsoft Office Suite and database programs ? demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills ? train others and confidently facilitate group processes ? work independently, including the ability to plan and implement steps to reach an objective in a given timeframe and exercise critical thinking, analysis and judgment ? tolerate ambiguity, multi-task, balance priorities and see tasks and projects through to high-quality completion ? learn, interpret and explain district information ? treat all colleagues and customers with respect ? work well under pressure ? High School diploma required ? 3 years relevant experience or educational equivalent ? Language skills (ie.
Spanish fluency) asdesired at time of initialemployment
Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
? Manages computer system(s) assigned to department ? Facilitates the data entry of information via computer system(s) assigned to department ? Provides information, troubleshooting and technical support for computer system(s) assigned to department ? Trains staff using the computer system(s) assigned to department ? Provides direct clerical and secretarial support to building administration and staff ? Performs routine clerical and secretarial tasks as directed ? Gathers and interprets information/data ? Maintains records and files, building-level lists, information and inventories ? Provides customer service to all administrators, staff, parents and visitors ? Processes school fees, payments, purchase orders and documents related to the building ? Prepares, develops, creates and distributes reports, documents and correspondence accurately and professionally for distribution ? Conducts records management in accordance with state and district guidelines ? Complies with Board policy ? Accesses and interprets highly confidential information with discretion ? Completes projects independently and meets associated deadlines ? Provides back-up to and assists other Office Professional as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities ? Directs District staff, students and parents to the acquisition and use of appropriate forms ? Other related responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Job Type:
